Well I got the man. trans out today. Boy was that fun. I loved how I had to remove the subframe. So good news is the clutch was replaced by the recall and is the 9 3/4. I'm looking for a good clutch but not trying to break the bank. I don't plan on modify the motor much at all just a K/N filter, Exhaust and maybe a new MAF. So which clutch would be good for my SHO? So far after buying the car for $600 2 weeks ago I performed the 120K tune-up and this is the last thing on the list the clutch. Thanks for all the help!!

Most people would suggest the stock clutch which you can get for not much. ($220) But even if you have almost no upgrades and dont drive you car hard you may want to consider a better then stock clutch. If i have to back up a hill, the stock clutch just doesnt do the job...

LOL very true! thumbs_u

I recently had a new stock clutch installed, and everything seems good. Take-off is sooo much better now. Something like 1900lb PP. Just go to sho nut performance and look around.

good luck in your clutch search

The biggest problem with the bone stock pressure plate and throwout bearing is that the throut bearing wears through the clutch fingers before the disc itself is even half worn, leading to a clutch that won't fully release = trans that won't go into gear or sometimes shift.

For an extra $74, SHOnutperformance will sell you an upgraded ceramic hybrid throut bearing. With people now swapping in 3.2's, there is actual evidence that the solution works (e.g. no finger wear after 31 K miles).

I have the ceramic bearing w/stock clutch in my car with 25 K on the clutch and its working fine, at that mileage the OEM clutch/throwout bearing was already giving trouble shifting to reverse, due to finger wear as I found out when I took it apart.
