I wired up my stereo today since I didn't have a working one all last year and decided I needed my music back. When I connect the front left speaker and turn on the HU, it makes a pop (not everytime). When I turn on music, it will completely short out and cut the systme. If I slam the door or move it around, it will play. As soon as I open up the door, it will short and cut out.

I have a general idea where the problem is, however, I'm wondering if anyone else has gone through this as it is damn near impossible to work up under the parking brake and I'm definitely not taking the door off to see if there is a problem with the cannon-type plug.

Anyway, Scott was telling me this happened to his '95 SLO and I would like to know if there is a better/easier way to fix this. Ford made it impossible to easily run a new wire into the door.

TIA,

It's true that it's a PITA to run a new wire but that may be the best course. It's almost impossible to poke around in there and find a chafed wire or something.

Check over on TCCA as there are a few that have run new wires to the doors.
