removed the front sway bar and downed the rear to 18mm. car is now WAY more predictable and the increase in grip is amazing. i ran it at day two of the north carolina autocross championships today and i coule pretty much toss it werever i wanted and catch it with the throttle. Very nice setup. ran against a 00ish SS camaro on 315/35/17 R comps, my nemesis the trans am on 275 R comps and a street tire camaro (91 i think). placed second for the day and beet out the trans am by close to a tenth (not bad for 245 falken azenis) I'm very happy with the results.

Next weekend?? R-Comps..:dribble: :dribble:

thanks for the advise and the tires ShomesomeSho:salute:

Would you say that the only reason you could "catch it with the throttle" is because you are quaifed?

I just imagined the inside tire spinning while trying to power through...

I tracked my silver car for quite a while with no front bar and an open diff (i.e., no quaife). No front bar helps a LOT with an open diff if your springs are stiff enough to provide adequate roll resistance. I could hammer it on corner exit with no wheelspin in all but a couple very tight corners.

With a quaife I think it's just a tuning option, as it's just another bar selection in the toolbox. I have a very light front bar in the Pumpkin just because the cage raises the center of gravity enough to require a little more roll resistance with the springs I'm using.

there was a deffinate traction impovement with the lower bars. even with the quaife it was asking allot for the front tires to hold lateral grip and accelerate at the same time when the inside tire was being unloaded by the bar. now it feels more like all 4 wheels are grabbing the ground.

nc89sho, how much does your car weigh? I thought shomewsomesho was going in the wrong direction with the small bar, until I found it he has coilovers on a very lightweight car . . . zak
