alright guys problem number 1426 with my car. no i din't keep track i was just trying to be funny. sorry. Ok when i turn left say about 90 degrees of steering wheel motion and then start to bring the car strait again (while driving) when i get almost strait i hear a loud clunk and a very slight vibration from my front drivers side wheel. I am thinking tie rod or controll arm. I would like to know what you guys think. I am purchasing the 96 brake upgrade so i can have it fixed while it is in for that. Thanks for all the help.

From that descritption, it is most likely the tie rod end. Check the wheel for lateral play with it jacked off the ground. Huh, Huh, he said "jacked off." Huh, huh.

Check the INNER tie rod ends, too.

The mechanic who performed the mandatory state safety inspection on my 89 caught the outers (they wanted over $200 to replace them). I replaced them for $20 each (autoZone) and paid $50 for a front end alignment.

They passed the re-inspection, but afterwards, I had the same clunk you describe. A closer look shows I have a bad inner tie rod end on the driver's side. I plan on replacing the rack this spring since it has issues and the new one comes with new inners.
