for the past week i've been carpooling to work, and have the SHO in the garage. I hadn't driven it in about a week, I pull it out of the garage, get out to shut the garage door, and there is a big puddle of tranny fluid. It has been leaking a little ever since I had the fluid completely flushed, and thought that possibly, the gasket needs changed. Will a bad fluid pan gasket cause this much leaking, or do I have a crack in the case?

Determine where the leak is originating. Is it the pan gasket? It could be an axel seal leak, an input seal leak (front of the trans between the engine and bell housing), a pump seal leak or pump bolt leak, or torque converter leak (also front of trans). Then there are the other gear and differential covers that are a possibility. And lastly the leak could be around a sensor or switch or the VSS.

So, determine where the leak is originating. rangerj

Are the axles seated properly? Can you move them in and out of the transmission more than an 1/8" or so? I had a mechanic replace my axles once and for what ever reason he decided to remove the retainer clip. That caused the axle would move in and out of the trans a little and leak fluid. Just a thought.
EDIT: Sorry I didnt realize it was an ATX dont know if my post is even relevant now.

It's dripping from the front edge of the pan towards the passenger side of the car, nowhere near the axles...i got under the car friday night and it really seems to be a bad pan gasket. I'm going to take the car back to the guys who flushed the tranny fluid and let them know that it never leaked until they flushed it.
