Latching The Cowl Hood

Can The Cowl Hood Be Latched Down Like The Regular Hood?

I Have One Sitting In My Room And I Was Just Wondering If I Can Just Switch The Hoods And Thats It?

Yes. I opted for the sheet stainless strike plate which really just keeps the latch (hook) from chewing up the fiberglass. However, it's only riveted on so I don't believe it does much in the way of reinforcing that hood/latch union - if that's a concern for you.

I remember now too that I had to open up the four bolt holes on the hood side of the hinges, as the threaded holes in the hood were slightly inboard of those on the factory hood. I believe I slotted them about a quarter of an inch inboard.

You'll probably wind up wanting to look around for a hood strut relocator bracket or two also, when you get tired of using a prop-rod.

Other than that, my install was pretty straight forward.

Problem with the relocation kit, is that it may or may not put undue stress on the rest of the hood, as the weight of the whole hood will be leveraging out and stressing the point where the hood bolts onto the car. Personally, I am putting a prop rod in, as much as I dont like the look of one... :/
