Well, per my records, the last one was in the Fall of 2007!!
We ran these for once, sometimes twice, a year from about 2000 to 2007. We tried to schedule them in Spring or Fall when the weather is cooler, and we had "normal" gas available.
Lapeer was going to open Saturday 4/7, but I see it's been bumped up to 3/31: http://www.lapeerdragway.com/schedule.html
Anyway, I was looking at later April, as 4/8 is Easter.
The next three weeks are good, although I would rather keep it in April for the better weather, and I am "tentatively" planned to start back to work in May.
The April Saturdays are: 4/14, 4/21, and 4/28.
There is a former Best Western in Lake Orion, with a bar/restaurant across the parking lot. Now called G's Pizzeria, we had dinner there years back when it was called the Wooden Eagle (the log cabin place).
There is also a hotel a few miles east of the former Big Buck that has East Side Mario's (bar/restaurant....good spot), then a new place next door, called Clubhouse BFD: http://chbfd.com/ A sports bar with 40 beers on tap. Ryan Dudek & I need to check it out....but it sounds promising!!
Anyway, just thought I would put it out there and see if there's interest.
EDIT: "40" beers on tap!!
