I dunno if you call it a upgrade But I just replaced my old Motorcraft struts with KYB GR-2's.
The old Motorcrafts seemd a little week when I removed them and one that I knew was busted you could shuv in real fast and easy, and you could hear it bubble inside. I knew it was bad causeof the oil leaking down. I also got rid of my annoying thump I had when I hit bumps that sounded like an exhaust thumping the car.
The car seems a bit stiffer and I feel like i have more control in curves and such. I like it even if it's not an upgrade.

I love the KYB's i put on my 1990. i never got to ride in it before the new struts and springs because they were so badly shot. But now it is the best riding car Ive ever been in.

So far i'm loveing it. I read the KYB's don't like to be on lowered cars though so if I decide to ever get springs I might have to invest in some better struts.

Wish I would have got those instead of the Monroe struts.
Even with a lifetime warranty it still does'nt help the harshness.
I was upset with them from day one.But they will do for now.

The KYB's are stiffer than stock but I like it that way, too each their own rite?
