Mine is set at half, and I annoy a few people (including my wife)when they get in my car when they aren't used to it.

A guy I know was in my car last weekend (he owns a GL SLO) and he said, "Sounds like you need new shocks!". I said no, I have Koni's and Eibachs. That shut him up. Then I continued with, I can take corners at 60 and push it further if I wanted to! He was impressed.

Mine are set at half a turn as well. For me that plenty without the chassis being reinforced. It really lets you feel the inadaquicies of the taurus chassis. SFC going on in spring, thats a must.

For the coil overs I found it best to have them all the way on firm, the stiffer springs like more rebound and it is less bouncy.

Jeremy,

I have my koni's set at a 1/2 turn on the front and 0 turns (full soft) on the rear. This along with 38psi front tire and 36psi rear tire allows for a comfortable combonation of ride and handling for all round driving.

A few quick questions for you Koni adjustable guys…

I am eventually going to pick up a set of adjustable shocks before spring, and I have seen that some brands and for some cars, that you have to remove the shock to adjust it. I definitely do not want this. I want the type of shock that adjusts on the side or on the top of the strut.

Are the Koni’s easily adjustable? If so what model do you guys have, and how much do they run for a set of 4?

One more question, if you crank them all the way up can you get a significantly stiffer ride than stock?

Thanks,
Adam

If you turn the shocks all the way up to firm the car is totally diffrent, it reacts very different and you have to re-learn how to drive it a little.

The shocks are easy to adjust there are knobs that go on top of the strut to adjust

There is LESS wheel hop, the rerbound dampens the hop. I used to turn mine all the way when I went drag racing and it helped control the hop so I would quit breaking axles(how's that for a run on sentence)

Now with the coil overs I never get wheel hop.

Koni's are very easily adjustable.... in the front. The adjustment screw is right on the strut tower. Same on the rear but you have to remove the rear seats and the seat belt to adjust them. That can be a bit of work. Once those things are out of the way, it is very easy to adjust.

I have my fronts set at 3/4 and the rears at 1/2. I run the 245/45-17 tires at 34 psi front and 32 psi rear. The car rides and handles better the firmer you go with the Koni's, until you hit rough pavement

I modified one of my knobs into a square, 9/16th's I think. It fits on top of the rear strut then I use an open end wrench to turn it. Works real good. I have the rears one turn and the fronts soft. Put the fronts on one turn when I'm going to the twisties.

I have two knobs, stock one for the fronts and a modified one (cut most of the top off except fo a narrow leg) for the rears. ****, I have to climb into the trunk or stand outside next to the C-pillar to reach in and adjust the rears, al real PITA.

I have my konis on a full turn right now I really like them like that, but you will feel a lot of bumps with them on firm. I think medium (1/2 turn is a pretty good compromise between ride quality and performance). Also with my konis on full firm I can't resist trying to make my car break free of traction in turns sometimes lol. The konis on firm keep the car very flat in turns.
