I have a 1992 SHO that developed a slight knock which sounds like it is from the lower part of the engine. Anyone with idea's on what it could be? The car will start and idle's fine.

Knocking from the bottom end is never a good thing. It's probably the rod bearings. You can replace them by just dropping the oil pan as long as the crank isn't damaged. If it is damaged, then it's time for a different engine. I wouldn't drive it until you get it fixed.

what octane have you been running... try some octane boost and some fuel injector cleaner, run her on some high octane gas, plus the octane boost, see what happens, then try some fuel injector cleaner, if that doesnt work, your screwed and its probably what Kurt Angle said above me. P.S. olympic, nice wig the other night lol.

If it sounds like (work with me here) the sound bowling balls make when they go down an alley but it's a rhythmic "thum thum thum thum" in time with the engine you need to check the bottom end quick.

Supposedly the rod bearings aren't too bad to do.
