A simple problem, I think. Just something I'm unfamiliar with. When I got my 94 ATX, it only came with an ignition key. And, they accidentally locked the trunk by pressing the right spot on the left side of the drivers seat where you would stick the key if you had one.
So, anytime I want in, I have to use the keyless entry pad on my drivers door.

Then, I yank on the little string to open the gas door.

I have the keyless remote, and replaced the batteries but it doesn't work. Anyone have any economically sound suggestions? A locksmith would cost me 35 bucks to get a key made for the trunk.

Would the key to my trunk (if I have one made)work in the lock that is on my driver side left?

Where is the sensor that my keyless remote is supposed to signal to? Do I buy a new remote and then have it programmed somehow? Anyone have any tests that I can do?

Thanks,

John

The keyless remote module is located in the trunk on the drivers side right behind the backseat. The connector to jump to program the remotes is also in the trunk. You may just need to reprogram your remote to work, that would be the first thing I would do. I would search the forum here or go to your local Ford dealer and they should be able to print out the procedure needed to program the remotes. Then if it still didn't work, I would let us know and we can go from there. My old ATX didn't come with a remote so I went to Ford, bought one with a copy of how to program it, and got it working.
