I did a search and even posted in an older thread but got no response. My question is do the 94-95 SHOs ALL have the REMOTE keyless entry module installed? I know that if you DO have the keypad on the door, you automatically have the remote keyless access--just go buy a fob and program it. I heard somewhere that on the 94-95s, they all had RKE whether there was a keypad on the door or not. I looked in my 95 sales brochure and it shows remote keyless as still an option.

I'm guessing that if they aren't standard, then it's a royal PITA to install it.

My 94 does not have RKE in any shape or form. It does have the illuminated entry package (as they all do) but no other entry other than the good old key...it sucks.

The quoted section above is 100% False.

Keyless entry and Remote Keyless have different boxes with different plugs, if someone that thought they only had keyless bought a keyfob and it worked, it's because they had Remote Keyless all along and the PO lost the remote. Vehicles with no Remote Keyless or Keyless will have a small box as the door locks and interior lights still go through the wiring normally hooked to the Keyless module.

So if I buy a SHO w/o RKE, it's the same PITA scenario to install as it would be on my 90 that has only illuminated entry?

That sucks...oh well. At least that's cleared up for me now. I knew there was some back and forth discussion on this and I thought I'd heard somewhere that all 94-95s had the RKE box--guess not.

It didnt. Nothing before 1993 got the RKE....

My 92 had it and I swapped out the box with another. The RKE box that was in the car is now in my 96 Mustang.

Originally the SHO only had 1 remote - got a deal on eBay that included 2 remotes and the box. The box even had the code for the driver's door entry. When I sold the SHO I put the original box back in and swapped the other one w/ 2 remotes to my Mustang to prevent anyone having a spare remote to gain access to the car.

They all plugged and played for me with no problem.

ok thanks, I will have to go check out the junk yards and see if I can find one with it, can you just buy a remote from anywhere and program it to work if you have the box in the car to support it, or is there certain aftermarket remotes that work? thanks again guys
