Today I did a few repairs on my '91. As far as I know nothing I did would have affected the keyless entry module at all.

Tonight I went out to the car and I hit the button to turn the alarm off and unlock the doors, but then the door lock mechanisms in all 4 doors kept locking, unlocking, locking, unlocking and it made a most strange noise from within the doors themselves. Now, the buttons weren't moving, but the motors were running and once each of the doors were opened and then closed again each door quit making the noise.

Apparently that didn't help at all because I went out to the car an hour later and the battery was dead. I had turned the car on when I first discovered the problem with the door locks thinking maybe whatever the problem was would go away if the car was started up. Ha ha ha....nope.

So I pulled the keyless entry module out of the trunk. Does this sound like a problem with the module itself or something else? Any clues to this mystery would be greatly apprecaited.

Just as a note, I've never ever had any problems out of the keyless entry before and all my door locks have always locked or unlocked just as they should have.

I had the EXACT problem start today on my sho too, how weird is that? I took my sho too a local shop and it will be fixed 2marrow morn. Ill let you know what they say after i get it back. Thats so weird that someone else has the same problem, at the same time. The locks have a mind of their own and make really really weird noise right? BTW i have RKE too but i dont have a remote. Do you think its the RKE box?

Perhaps I should not make the leap from a Taurus to an Audi but I am trying to help. What exactly did you work on? Did you take the door panel off by chance? A similar thing happened to me years ago when I took the panel off on my '90 100. The lock 'stick' got stuck under the panel instead of being free in the hole. So I would hit 'unlock' and the car would keep trying but it couldn't because one of them was pinned. Sorry if this is of no help to you. Good luck.

I replaced a burned out indiglo gauge and reconnected my nitrous system. Nothing that I did should have affected the door locks that I'm aware of. Thanks for the thought though. wink

What ended up happeding with your keyless entry problem? I had my SHO at good year 2 days and ford 2 days, and they both said they couldn't find anything wrong with it. So i pick up my car after not having it for 4 days rant and everything works perfect shrug . So I guess the problem fixed it self, i also had a problem with the heater always being on, but that just stoped one day and fixed it self too thumb

I still need to get a replacement box. If that fixes the problem then I know it was my keyless entry box.
