I CAN'T FIND MY KEYS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! where on the car is the keycode located and anyone else have any other ideas as to WHY it would just stop running out of nowhere... and then start back up later... and finally just wouldnt run anymore? any help would be greatly appreciated, JD

The key code is located in two places. The first place is on the inside of the trunk. Look for a white sticker with the 5 digit code. Look up under the trunk on the latch side as well, sometimes they put them there.

The other place is on the keyless module itself, which is on the rear seat panel, next to the stereo stuff. It's a black box and will have the white sticker with the 5 digit code on it as well.

someone on here has the secret to unlocking the doors on a gen II SHO without ANY power to the locks or a key. Ask around. Just don't make it public.

As far as the starting, stopping and starting again, it could possibly be a crank sensor....

i was told if the crank sensor is out, it would turn off the fuel pump... fuel pressure is fine... and was told if it was the cam sensor, then it wouldnt have spark... I dont have spark... I am sooo clueless though, just going with what i am told.

no, not the keyless code... the key code to have a replacement key made for the ignition... sorry for the not so clear message

Ohhhh, I got ya now.

Not likely you'll get that key code. Usually the key tag was stored in the selling folder by the selling dealer, but given the age of the car I am sure that's LONG gone even if you could track down the selling dealer.

If you can remove the locks, a locksmith can make you new keys to match.

well, I know from expirience, some cars do have on them somewhere a code for the ignition key... got an ignition key made from a code pulled off of a nissan pick up passenger door lock. just wondering if there was anything like that on an SHO... and after all this readin in the forums, i am sad to admit, I think it is the crank possitioning sensor that is out on my car and i REALLY dont wanna do that work

There is no "Key Code" anywhere on a Taurus.

You now need a locksmith or to get lucky and find your keys.
