My grandpa finally had enough of the old '84 Toyota Pickup. It had overheating from time to time, and he kept getting flat tire. He was planning on just parking it and letting it rot. I told him that I'd take it off his hands, and I took it home that night.

2.4l Inline 4 carbed terror on wheels
109k miles!!!

I hit a deer with it last winter while driving it, and it still needs a hood and a grille. (not really, but to be pretty any way). The overheating I think is being caused by a failing waterpump bearing. I squeaks pretty bad at startup, and every once and a while.

I'll try and get pics up some time, but it's not really fun to look at. Maybe a little better than Paul's old Chevy Luv.

I'm trying to get my dad to let me buy his 89 Toyota truck (22RE) for a 'beater'. It's in great shape and would probably outlast me. He's had his 85 (22R) since new and has around 250k miles on it. It looks BETTER than new (seriously) and he got 200k+ out of the original brake pads and clutch :)

Good job man. I would love a extended cab 4wd Toyota w/ a 5 speed. Tell your dad Joe he didn't wave as I passed him on Satillo as he was headed home. I was going to the Hwy 2 Wal-Mart in my parents Grand Prix.

I took some last night, maybe tonight. I had to park it next to the old oak tree, and used the come-a-long and pulled it out.

You ain't shit until you "get like me" and drive a Series 2 Land Rover Discovery with a nuclear fallout-proof 4.0 v8. 180,000 orig miles on engine/tranny. Oil gets added as needed and never replaced. Tranny fluid has never been checked. And he sees about 120 miles a week with 3+ tons behind him. Edmond Fitzgerald III (His name  ) has seen this about 9 times this year alone. :theyareontome:

Rover2
That right thurr is just over 13,500 pounds of concrete, brick, building block, and rebar. Weight courtesy of a Cat certified scale. This does not count the weight of the trailer which is a 7,000lb GVR tandem. :nut:

Rover1
Drove this load 45 miles across city traffic. Engine pegged the temp needle 3 miles in but Edmond kept going strong almost as if he was laughing at our measly attempt to break his back.

Rover3
Me just moments before loading up the trailer.

You may remember Edmond from this winter... I certainly don't give that poor guy a break do I?

I saw one of those "nuclear fallout-proof" 4.0's the other day.

It had the head of a valve imbedded 90* into the cylinder head. The piston looked like a golf ball with a potato gun hole through it. It knocked a little.

 Yea... I should take a pic of the oil fill cap... Its not uncommon that I have to "chip" away some carbon/sludge out of the fill tube before I can actually pour any oil in it. :snicker:

Good lookin' truck, Joe. I imagine that is a 2WD and not 4WD, right? Burn out vids?
