I recently installed a jet chip I picked up on ebay and installed in a Stock 93 ATX SHO with 168K on the clock. I wanted to get crisp shifts from the trans and some better performance could'nt hurt (I thought). It has been working just fine with defined up shifts and down shifts and I have been pleased until last weekend. Suddenly the car was running on three or four cylinders. I saw a good puff of smoke when I parked it and let it cool down until the next day. Put it up on ramps let it run for a while and one Cat was glowing red.
Probably too rich a mixture from the jet chip so that thing is going to be removed.
On a better note:
I was going to just cut out the clogged cat but I found a good source for a Catco converter Y pipe #4194, a direct replacement. Price delivered to my home is $256.70. Best price I found including ebay.

To all you fellow SHO members that may need one try out The Exhaust Warehouse in Richmond Hills, NY, 1 800 965-0040. They took paypal and provide tracking information.

Now, can anyone tell me where I can go to have this Jet chip reprogrammed to get good shifting from the trans but **** the rich fuel mixture?

Thanks, Mike

Jet Chip is most suitable for the cylindrical file; remove it before you lose your motor. Don't believe everything you read on ebay junk. The Tweecer will do the job correctly, albeit it is not cheap, it works properly.
Catco pipe must be an OEM replacement; there are no high flow y pipes for ATX cars.

Uh.... I don't think there's anybody left out there that reprograms those things... and even if there is, chip tuning is a very imprecise science. How much did you spend for the chip? Because honestly, I would've saved up for a TwEECer. If you buy one, I guarantee you won't have this problem, because you do all the tuning yourself...

The magnaflow y-pipe has high flow converters in it, and FPS makes a high flow y-pipe. The catco will work fine for your application as well.

The jet chip cost $50.- if I remember correctly but I can just add it to the cost of a new catalytic converer y pipe.

Hypertech Chips are OK. The only problem with them is that it's hard to tell what they're actually programmed for unless you had the chip programmed yourself.

As far as I know there are very few people that program these anymore.
