After about a month of working afternoons (very little) and weekends (around deer hunting) I finally got my rod bearings changed, crank seal replaced, and new belts put on. I drove here for the first time a little while ago. I did 100% of the work myself and this was my first time on the inside of an engine and also my biggest project by far. So thank you, fellow SHO owners, for lending me your amazing knowledge and tips as this forum has been a lifeline for me during this project. Thank You!

yeah, I had some cold knuckle busters that felt great when the wrench slippedoff the bolt. Dang that hurts. I tried taking pics but you can't really see what they look like, any tips?

nice tip, i forgot that was there. But you can get the idea from those. I don't think they were too bad.

Seen much worse but they were defiantly bad enough that they required attention. Good job on getting all that work done.

That's quite daunting when first doing it. I remember how much I went through when doing my bearings and seal and what not.

I just figured, while I was in there...why not. Glad I did. I guess the copper is how you know they needed changing?

Those rod bearings look very similar to mine at the same mileage. Congratulations on getting all of that work done!

Mine never would have made it to 180k, I had one that was just about ready to fail at 100k. I wish I had pics, but unfortunately I tossed mine before I thought about taking pics.
