Since feb this project has been going on and on June 17, 2008, the SHO is alive. No it runs like poopoo because i think there is a vacuum leak and it idles at 450 and reeks of gas!! but when it surges up it sounds INCREADABLE. Now all i need to do it retap that shifter stabalizer bolt and shes ready to be driven!! Jthod, im still probly gonna wait out and get it down there...i wish there was a way to rig it so i can drive the sho and no tow it.

Like I said in the other thread, I can get a toter, it's in Eagletucky. An my count on loading SHO's is now 5 or 6 times, so I have it figured out. They sit a little lower than other cars, so it's a little tricky.

I'd bring it down for gas money, so about $50. Seriously.:nut: Damn Dodge.

I vote massive vac leak at either one of the intake gaskets, or a coupler. Since your smelling gas and all.

did you have any issues with fuel lines with all the work?

Does it steadily idle at 450? The idle set screw could be that far off, I guess.

Yea, it holds pretty steady at 450 till it chokes out, but it reves up to around 2500 or so sometimes. I think one of the couplers was bad on the butterflies so i might take the intake back off and replace it once i can get some new couplers. I might have one laying around the garage. If my shifter stabilizer could bolt in i could drive it down there, but the damn thing is stripped out. If i knew what to buy i could buy it and have someone who knew what to do, do it. It ran really well before i started to tear into it, do you think the screw could work itself out. Maby i smell gas because it just idles so low?? I dont hear any vacuum leaks, my friend says he hears sucking towards the intake side, but i just think thats the intake struggling to keep it alive.

Ok, so i started it today to try and find the vacuum leak, and when it started it was ******* smoke out of the muffler, it kinda smelt like oil burning... WHY? There was nothing wrong with the motor before we pulled it, and it didnt smoke the 3 or 4 times i started it last night.... Do you think its just from sitting for 4 or 5 months?? Im just gonna wait till you get here jthod!! :) Just let me know when you can get up here to help and it would be AWSOME...

After sitting that long it may just neet to be run a bit. The gas in the tank is probably getting old too.

As far as the vac leak goes, make sure EVERYTHING on the intake has been torqued down properly. Did you replace and gaskets? You might also replace all the vac. lines, it's really cheap, like less tha a $ a foot.
