You got it. I usually just break the plastic clip off the electrical connector, no worries, it will stay in!

NO! thats not it, its under the glovebox door not behind it. Its behind the plastic insulated cover above pass side foot well. That cover can be a PIA as there are two square push on metal clips pushed on to plastic studs. Then two screws to pull it after two hoses & a 4pin grey connector are removed.

is the bcm behind the eatc?

Nope. It is located under the glove box near the floor close to the firewall.

There is a big white sticker on the front of it facing the passenger seat saying "This is the Blower Control Module if you dont have the EATC unplug this...blah blah blah"

Do you cut the 3-4 wires to it and then splice them with the new ones?

No - it has a plug on it. Simply unplug it and replug in the new one. You can get a new one from Ford (roughly around $150, try FPN, try a WTB ad here, or a junk yard). Any FoMoCo car in a junkyard from '90-'95 (Sable, Taurus, Lincoln) will all have the same BCM that will work in the SHO.

The wires are about 5-6 inches long. I have a picture of if taken out if you would like to see them. Maybe I will see if I can post them here if I find a place to host them.

They go into a 4-pin plug. Its pretty big and the plug is mounted to the something about 3-4 inches above where the BCM is screwed in. (Go straight back from the bottom of the glove box toward the firewall.)

The BCM can be removed from either through the glove box or from underneath. It is easiest however, to get to the screws from underneath. There's a couple of tubes to disconnect and a wiring harness. Pretty simple replacement.

A view from underneath:

Looking from within the glove box. Notice the part you had originally thought was the BCM is just to the upper right of the actual BCM, so you were in the right area anyway.

Looking for some additional assistance on this same topic. I have an 89 that came with the automatic temperature control option. I'm currently experiencing the same symptoms as other members have posted regarding their 90-95 EATC equipped SHOs. I only have max fan speed and nothing below that. Does anyone know if the 89 has a specific blower control module or is it interchangeable with the later 90-95 models? Any advice is welcome! Thanks in advance.

If it has the EATC it should have the same BCM as the rest of the ford cars...

By the way, I found one at Pick and Pull and fixed the problem!!! Good looking out SHOForum gurus.

I just wanted to document and confirm my replacement of the 89 blower control module. Several posts in this section discuss the replacement of the "90-95" EATC blower control module (BCM) but none of them were ever specific for the 89 EATC model. Tonight, I finally got around to replacing the 89 BCM with a 91 BCM. Problem solved!!!! I have full control of the fan speed once again.

Many thanks to all who provided guidance on diagnosing and solving this problem. It wasn't too difficult of a repair job. I had more problems finding the time to set aside to do it. Thanks again.
