Hey there guys I just joined this here forum. I'm thinking of picking up this SHO, but I'm unsure of jumping the gun due to the mileage and potential wear of tear of parts. Could I get your guys' opinion on it here?
Here is the link:

I have yet to see the vehicle in person due to the distance the dealership is away from and also due to lack of time. I have had high mileage vehicles before, so it's the only reason I am considering this SHO. However, I have never had a turbo car as high performance as the SHO. So I'm unsure of the reliability of the vehicle at such a high mileage in this point in its life. Many thanks in advance.

I would look for a low Milage certified warranted SHO and one with the PP for all the extra cooling alone just for longevity and quicker on the street....I used several search apps for my criteria. I live to to Philadelphia and cars were 3-6000 more closer to philly, so I set my search out to 100 miles. I drove 70 miles to get my car, but it was $7000 less with CPO, PP and 33,000 miles...well worth the ride and time. Good luck

Honestly I think it depends on your budget. If 12k is worth it to you, then it is worth it. If 120K miles isnt worth the money, then you have your answer. I pick up my 13 PP with 51K for just south on 21K. So far it has been worth every penny.

I had the same worries when i bought my 2012 last year for around the same price with 123k miles on it. but I went in with the mind set of knowing that this will be my project car. I made sure it was certified from a reputable dealer, and i bought the premium 3 year 36,000 mile bumper to bumper extended warranty through Ford 3rd party vendor (which is a waste). but SHO Nuff, two weeks after I purchased the car, the PTU had to be replaced $1,700 big ones. I'm glad it was covered under the 90 dealer warranty.. because the extended warranty would not cover it. its been a year and a half later, now other things are starting to go wrong with it, like O2 sensor, torque converter, tstat, an suspension noise coming from the front end. that was the negative!!! now the positive, This is a fun car to drive, even with all the issues, she still drive very strong, and she's a beauty. I said all that to say this, I came in with the mindset of making this my project car. If you dont have that mindset, then a high mileage SHO is not a good fit for you. Beware, if you test drive that car, you're probably going to talk yourself into getting it.. because its so much more you can do to this car performance wise.

Hope this helps

Thanks for the advice guys. I actually bought a rather new vehicle only 3 years old just last year with pretty decent miles (33,000) on it. Its just that I wasn't really looking for a performance car at the time so I didn't really consider the SHO at the time I purchased my vehicle. However, these past couple of weeks I've been checking car listings from time to time just to see if there's anything interesting available and that's when I found a SHO. I really don't need another car since I don't really have space for another one but the idea of maybe selling my vehicle and getting a SHO was planted in me. But now I'm thinking that it's much better for me to just hold on my car and just enjoy the longevity and reliability of it. And just in case you guys are wondering my car in question is a 2015 Subaru Legacy 3.6R. Nothing really fancy, but it ticked all of my boxes when I was car shopping. I just wish that Subaru had placed a stronger engine in the 3.6R. It's a bit underpowered considering its a V6 engine.

If the payment on that car is putting you near the limit of what you can afford, then it is a terrible deal. If you have money in the bank, and can spend a couple grand on repairs that could pop up, then it's a decent enough deal.

If you buy a lower mileage car for 5 grand more, you are guaranteed to pay that extra 5 grand. If you buy this one, you might end up throwing a couple grand on a turbo, or you might blow an engine that will cost you 7K, but you have those same risks with the more expensive car too, only you are guaranteed to pay 5 grand less up front (or whatever the price difference would be on a lesser mile car in your area).

That’s uncool your ptu was not covered under warranty. May I ask what warranty company you used, and why did the deny the claim?
Many thanks.
