Is there a difference between 89-91 rear strut mounts vs. 92-95?

OK here's the deal... I took a preassembled set of 4 tokico/intrax springs and struts from an 89 I and another guy bought to part out and all the hardware (ie: strut mounts, bearings, etc...) looked to have been replaced with the struts and springs so it has less than 10K on it. I was happy about this because I did not want to have to disassemble the springs and struts so I pulled the crappy old OEM combo off of my 93 and DIRECTLY swapped the tokico setup onto my 93. Now I am getting hellashish(sp?) clacking and rattling from my rear struts it seems, just like the sound I had when the 140K mile OEM ones were in there. I am not really all that upset since in essence they were free from a parts car, but yesterday I talked to another SHO owner in the exact situation I am in... he took a tokcio/eibach combo off a 1990 SHO and installed them in his 93 and it sounds as though the rear struts are clacking just like what I described... bottom line of this incredibly long post is there a difference that would cause this annoying sound from using the strut mounts and hardware from an gen 1 89 on a gen 2 93? Please tell me yes, since this means I'll have to yank the rears off and buy diff mounts which will really make my day and also the other owner in this situation. TIA thumbup

According to Advance auto's website, Monroe 901954 fits both the 89 and 93 SHO's. The clacking sound is definetely the bushing that has gone bad. Just swap them for new strut mounts, and you should be golden.

SHONut has a good write up about all the different strut mounts and front bearings. There are a few different rear mounts, but they can be swapped onto any 89-95
