I've been trying to reach Kirk Doucette for a few weeks without success. I bought a SHO from Jason Corsano (jonny cash) two months ago and Kirk had agreed with both Jason and myself to deliver the car. I know he's been busy with work, Carlisle, etc. And I know that I've called him more times than he liked (he was a little peeved when I talked to him last). I never meant to offend him. It's just an old habit from dealing with other "SHO people" in the past. So if I offended him I apologize in front of the whole forum.

The last time we spoke he was going to get me a price for shipping and said he'd call me back in a couple days. It has been more than 2 weeks since then and I've left him a single message and an email in that time and haven't heard a word. Does anybody know if he's alive?

Jason has been very patient to store the car for me while we've been working this out but I know he would like the car to be gone soon.... and I'd like to get it here before summer ends so I can put some work into it. I'm willing to pay him (or anybody else for that matter) the same as I'd pay any transport company and I'd prefer giving him the money but I need to get this done as soon as possible.

If anyone has any information or if any of you are in contact with him would you please ring in?

 I accidentally posted this thread on a different section of the forum and intended to post this here... whoops :) I had several IE windows open and posted on the wrong one. Anyway, I tried to end the other thread but don't know if I can do it or if it needs to be done by a mod.

In response to a couple posts made in the first thread after I took my original text off, I have to say that I've been pretty patient with Kirk because I know he's busy and I realize he ultimately doesn't have to do this (although he gave me his word... which still means something to some of us). I'm just trying to get some information. I've been a little persisitant and I know most of you would do the same if you were me. I've learned from painful experience that a lot of SHO enthusiasts are very sketchy in regards to following through with what they say they're going to do, which is why I am generally VERY persistant. I've actually been much less that way with Kirk because he told me that he keeps his word to people. But like I said, I still may have called more than he liked and I apologize if I offended him.... that was NOT my intention.

Yes.

I killed him.

Seriously, the past four to six weeks (really the past 2-3 months) have been very hectic for everyone at NESHO, especially Kirk. Everyone has been putting in 80+ hour weeks and still not getting all the work done.

Your issue is quite simple; he's trying to find other vehicles to transport as part of your trip to make it feasible for both you and him, and not charge you a million dollars. That takes time, and he hasn't had much of it. Right now the cost of diesel fuel is making running empty for more than a couple hundred miles almost impossible financially. If you're prepared and willing to pay the full nut to get him to make a dedicated trip just for you exclusively, don't hesitate to let him know this. Otherwise you'll need to be patient while he tries to get all the ducks in a row to arrange some reasonably-priced transportation for you and a couple other people.

If you don't want to wait, feel free to call someone else, but be prepared to pay the premium for transporting a non-running, lowered car. With Kirk, the fact that the car doesn't run doesn't impact the price, and the fact that he works exclusively on SHO's means that the car will be well-treated and not damaged going on and off a trailer.

I understand about the price of diesel, the workload at NESHO, etc. I can appreciate that especially since I own my own business as well. I don't even mind waiting for the car a little longer (as long as Jason doesn't mind). My frustration is that I haven't heard a peep from him. I just need to hear something... anything from him and not be left in the dark.

I'm willing to pay $1,000+ to have it transported, which is what I'm gonna pay with just about any transport company. I'd prefer giving him the money.

btw: Aren't you a moderator? If so, would you please delete the other thread?

Yeah, I wouldn't expect him to call just to tell you that he has no information. When he has the answer as to whether or not he's going to be able to make the trip and for what price, rest assured he's going to let you know.

Done.

Back in Michigan ... again.
It's still common courtsey for a business to let a client know status if MULTIPLE messages have been left, whether or not there is any new info. I know you guys get busy but c'mon, a minute to return a PM or email?

NESHO is better than that.

Florida to Utah, Yikes. Before the fuel spike you were looking at $1500 . . . . experience a friend of mine had, with a running car. zak

These are the sort of posts that absolutely crack me up! It's a person-to-business deal, the person makes a post on a forum that the business owner is hardly even on, then random people that know nothing about running a business feel the need to jump on the bandwagon and offer their "advice".

Times like this I really feel for, and understand, why SHO vendors are almost non existant.

Yeah... I started my own business a few years ago so I know a few things about it. Beyond that, I've been involved with marketing and public relations for a few years longer so I know what it takes to maintain a solid customer base.

It's the posts like yours that really crack ME up; the ones where people make generalizations to justify bad business moves.

Beyond that, I also have COMMON SENSE. Keep your customer happy... if that means taking a minute to send an email, do it. That's EASY customer relations right there.

Has nothing to do with being a SHO vendor or a business owner. It's common sense AND basic courtsey.

NESHO has a great track record. Not keeping in touch with a customer is the first step in ruining that track record. They get busy, things get stretched, it happens. As I said... they're better than that.

nevermind, I'll keep my mouth shut and suggest this thread be holed. Guy was answered by Mr A at NESHO. Only posts in this thread that are relevant are from the OP, Mr A, and JC.

Look, I've been with Kirk on more than one occasion when he has spoken with 2Fast4U. The current situation WRT to scheduling has been explained to him clearly. There is nothing further Kirk can do to assuage his impatience. I've reiterated the situation in my earlier reply, none of which should come as a surprise.

Kirk has made it clear to 2Fast4U that he will get in touch with him as soon as he arrangements can be made. He's also made it clear that it may take a while to do so given the factors detailed in my earlier reply, including explaining how busy we have been for the past few weeks and how that would be a factor in his ability to put this all together. There is no benefit to either 2Fast4U or Kirk for continued phone calls detailing that there is no news. If you place an order with Summit Racing or any other vendor, do you expect them to call or email you daily (or multiple times daily) to advise you that your order has NOT shipped yet? Exactly. If something is backordered and will take 2 weeks or whatever to arrive in stock, the customer is notified and then has to decide whether to wait or go elsewhere. There aren't daily updates to explain that the order is still backordered...

2Fast4U, again, if you can't wait for Kirk, don't hesitate to look elsewhere. He's trying to arrange multiple shipments in order to get you the best price possible and get your car to you safely. That is going to take time, and you need to decide if you can or can't wait. He WILL get back to you, but right now there is NOTHING new to report to you other than he is still working on it. Kirk wants the business, but wants to do it in a way that is good for him, the customer, and the car (don't forget that this is a car that Kirk spent over a year putting together and is special to him too).

Rather than allow this thread to turn into an argument any further, I'm going to close this thread and advise 2Fast4U if he has further issues to contact me directly via PM.

I'm keeping my mouth shut other than to say that Bob's comments really rubbed me the wrong way. I like Bob, but he's got a lot of nerve commenting the way he did, especially when he has sales that are still unresolved as far as I am aware. Until he has gotten those resolved he needs to put a muzzle on it.

And that's all I am going to say.
