I was poking through my local scrapyard today and lo and behold what do i see...an umolested 88/89 SLO LX with a mint digital dash!I have seens the other threads on this site about the conversion but all have used Gen 2 clusters. Now what im wondering is that even though the earlier cluster is different will it still work the same way(i mean different because this actually has a mechanical gas gauge and temp guage along with digital speedo and tach)stupid me should have taken a pic of it with my camera phone while i was there but i didnt....but anyway im wondering if there is much difference between the two and if it will work the same as GEn 2's...any input would be good before i go and pull this out....

Did you see this one?

Since you have a '90, you would want to do something like Jelloslug did to his 91.

That dash will only fit on an 89 SHO. Someone with an 89 might try it, but it isn't worth too much...

IMHO I would not bother. That dash stops at 85 MPH, has a 6000 RPM tach (I think), and is not that good looking when lit up. It's not a VF display like the 90-95 units, it's an LCD it looks like the stock 89-91 clock. Plus it won't bolt up to the existing mounting points, the dash bezel won't fit and it's missing some of the warning lights.

Gen II Digital Install

Did anyone with a Gen II SHO do a digital dash install completely? I am in the middle of doing one right now, and I am about 80% complete. I've done all of the connections, and the cluster looks pretty good. My cluster goes up to 85 miles per hour. Does anyone know how to reset this so it can go higher?
