more rubber, more HP.....
Is there any difference in ride/handling between the Intrax vs. Eibach springs? I read the Intrax lowers the car a little more than Eibachs but is there anything more to it?

Well, both are a progressive rate, with the Intrax being the stiffer of the two. The Eibachs actually start out softer than stock, but quickly become stiffer as the spring is compressed.

I prefer the Intrax set that was on my car except for the fact that the car would bottom out on certain dips when I have a lapse of road scanning.

I would not agree with the above. The Eibach's are not initially softer than stock. I have two SHO's that both have Eibach springs and they are no where near stock at any rate in the progression.

As far as which one is stiffer, that is a toss-up. Both myself and AutoSHO thought the Eibach's actually had a stiffer over-all feel to them.

I'd thought that the Intrax were constant-rate springs, is that not correct?

So for aftermarket constant-rate springs are the Moogs the only option?

Intrax are progressive as well.

Taken from www.intraxsuspension.com.

"What makes INTRAX springs better? INTRAX designs most of its lowering kits with progressive rates, to satisfy the two features you've asked for most. First, the lowered look. Most other brands' springs are linear rate, as this is cost-effective but doesn't necessarily provide the visual effect you desire. By designing a progressive spring, we achieve the lowered look while maintaining safety standards of spring preload at suspension droop. The second requirement is ride quality. Since most of you identified that you drove 90% of your mileage to and from work, you wanted to retain some ride quality enjoyed with OE springs. If you're driving to work on a racetrack, "Sport" or "Race" springs from other brands may be for you. INTRAX progressive springs provide high performance looks and comfortable ride quality. "

I am not sure on the Moogs, but if you can get a hold of some old SHO Shop springs, they are linear rate.

I feel a bit of softness in the Eibachs when running down a Pennsylvania-smooth highway that isn't present with Intrax coils. It's a slight front to rear pitch, but noticable to me. My info comes from both first hand experience and SHOtimes.

The differing vertical distances between the coils in the Intrax springs indicates to me that they, in fact, are progressive. Perhaps the range of rate is less with the Intrax versus the Eibach

Whether or not Eibachs are stiffer than stock probably depends on what year SHO you/re talking about. Late gen2 yes, gen1 probably not.

Even for earlier and later model SHO's, I have yet to find an Eibach spring initially as soft or softer than stock.

I love the Eibach/Tokico suspension. IMHO the ride is very europeon, except with all the rattles and squeaks of the Taurus.

I have the Intrax/Tokicko set up...Rides very good. Had eibachs on a different car, did'nt lower it as addvertised, nor did it feel as good. IMO the set up I have now is much better.
