Hey guys, I have a weird issue that cropped up, my interiors lights went out.

I haven't checked the fuses yet, but they flashed when I hit the alarm.

Weird, anyways, I'm out the door, replies are great!

Thanks,
Josh

check the dimmer adjustment. also check the switch that gets pushed when you shut the door. sometimes they stick closed, and the interior lights stay off.

Thanks

BTW, That alarm system has a mind of it's own doesn't it?

That happened to my car as well, it was the keyless entry module in the trunk. Assuming you have the keypad...

Let me rephrase, it's not the interior entry lights, it's the interior dash board/guage cluster/ back-lighting. As in I turn the headlight switch to running lights/headlights and none of the back-lighting for my gauges work. Yet when I hit the lock/unlock on the clifford wireless module the back lighting flashes in time with the running lights..

Does that make more sense? This is somewhat urgent as it would be pretty damn dangerous to drive at night without any back lighting.

I've checked the wiring to my gauges and there's no potential for a short there, I would suspect a fuse and i'm just going to pull them all and see if I find a blown one but why would the lighting still flash during the alarm beeps if the fuse was blown?

Well it was the 5 amp fuse at the top of the panel, I figure that the ~60w it was rated for isn't enough to supply the three incandescent lights for the gauges, I think a 10amp will be fine so I stuck it in there, but I still am curious as to why they would flash when I would hit the alarm if the fuse was blown?

Ia the fuse simply for the relay after the headlight switch and the alarm system taps into the lights after the fuse? that would make sense.
