You can do it without spacers you just have to grind some of the cover down.
But, I think hotrodkid had intake flanges made recently that could be used as spacers, might talk to him.

I don't think anyone makes these as a commodity, they get built onesie-twosie by folks who are swapping the Yamahammer into a rear drive application.
Once you determine the thickness you need, I would suggest looking for a water jet cutter in your area, take a set of intake manifold gaskets. Most of the WJC's will have a flat bed scanner, they can scan the gaskets and import the scan into their CAD program, then cut some spacers out of Aluminum or G-10 glass-epoxy laminate.
You could also PM Off Road SHO, he may have something, but it will be billet, polished and hella expensive.

I don't know if I have any of the 1/2" aluminum spacers left. I think all I have is the 1.5" for the M112 project and some plastics. I'll check. And Gary was 66.66% right; they are machined out of flat plate, they are not polished so therefore.....

This is entirely true, yes grinding off the egr stuff will gain you some much needed space but i did this recently and discovered that the coupler will contact without a spacer.
This picture the 1/8 spacers are in place.
i also have groung down the egr port and found the coupler is too close with the very thin intake gaskets.i had thought about just making some thick gaskets instead of the metal felpro style.that may be enough.1/8 thick spacers at this point would also work good.i don't want the spacers to look obvious as i plan to race this engine in a stock engine class.

I have 4 sets of the 1/2" aluminum spacers left at 150.00 per set shipped, and one last set of phenolic 1/8" spacers left at 85.00 shipped. These have been machined on a HAAS CNC mill and are very smooth with absolutely no scour marks like you get from a laser or waterjet. The aluminum can be taken right to your polisher, if you were so inclined. 10.00 from each sale goes to SHOFORUM.
When these are gone, there aint no mo. Costs too much for machine setup nowadays.

i dont wanna step on anyones toes or anything but personally i would make them out of phenolic material so there is no heat soak.
theres a rule of thumb if i remember it. for every 5 degree reduction in temperature, increases power by 1%

The flanges i have are 3/8 steel, have the center divider omitted, and arent even drilled for the bolts. they are a far cry from being optimum for this application.
on top of that, for the sake of not stepping on Toms toes, i wont be making any sort of aluminum intake spacers (flanges) or phenolic spacers till his are gone. If Somedude needs spacers for the sho-maro ill be sending him to Tom.

Don't worry about it stepping on my toes. I only did these first spacers to help out some customizers, and the more I had made the cheaper they became.
And as far as heat soak goes, the air is not in the intake long enought to heat it up. Only when the engine is shut off does the intake absorb a lot of heat from the heads. Try grabbing a runner while the car is running; it will be about ambient, which is cooler than the 160 degree air from the radiator that is constanly blowing over it.

agreed that and when driving in stop and go traffic or around town type driving that will heat soak...
when your driving with the secondaries going and such you wouldnt get any heat soak.
now for F/I this is a great idea to help keep heat out at all costs. after all a good hard run will heat up the turbo and then when you go back to normal driving you are putting hot air into the intake and once the heat is there its gonna soak into the intake and the heads will keep it warmed even after the compressor cools for a longer time then with the spacers, which will not be influenced by the head temp.

No, it's still sitting on top of the 1.5" spacers and the bottom of the plenum plate. I was just over at the SHOp Forced Induction Tuning, whose owner, Robb was the driving force behind me doing the 112. Robb was the tuner guy that did a lot of the fabrication and the final tune on the M-90 setup that I had on TOW. He was so impressed with the dyno results that he egged me on to find an M-112 and just do another intake.

i keep getting a bug to do a PD blower on my track car that is why I was asking. I still have not touched that M80 setup i bought off you a while back but that would probably cure my bug. Not looking for big power because I don't want to break stuff.

Wow, I sold you the M-90 and now it's just an M-80? Inflation must be getting worse than I thought.
Stick with the M-90, lower rotating mass. Just put a turbo in parallel with it. No waiting. And then you can really break isht.

All sets of the 1/2" are now sold. 1 Set of the 1/8" phenolics is left along with the only set of 1.5" "High Rise" spacers for anyone thinking of bolting a big blower on top of the Yamaha and doing away with the snakes.
