I just go in from cleaning my garage and had some time to look at a v6 intake (had to re assemble it)

My question is: has anyone tried to take the crossover tube off and block it? I know its there to equal somewhat the pressure and flow but how much does it really do?

Has anyone tried this? it would be easy to get to rubber 2" pvc caps and seal it. just to try it

There is a gentleman that capped off the existing TB opening, removed the crossover tube, and had a seperate intake for each side, complete with two throttle bodies. It's not exactly what you are asking, but it kind of pertains to that, doesn't it? :)

Why would you want to do this? If you think about what it is there for, it seems as if it would only have adverse affects.

There was a guy on the old Topica list that brought it up last year.On a VW,it worked very well,he ran the same set up on his SHO,and dropped a bit of power on the dyno.Nice thinking though!

What about the DIS module on the front of the crossover tube, where would it be relocated to?

As long as it's grounded you could put it anywhere. Maybe even better for it if you can keep more heat away from it.
