I'm trying to reinstall my intake manifold and it doesnt want to seat right. The passenger rear and driver front brackets look like the manifold is sitting to high to match up the bolt holes. I've looked at everything with the manifold off, and I don't see anything obstructions. What's going on?

I did replace the intake gaskets, would it be those little rubber things that are new instead of the worn out ones that were in there that are making the manifold seat too high?

If you did any work on the manifold it is good to loosen ALL the hose clamps on the rubber connectors, make sure top and bottom bolts for the front and rear brackets are loose, and for added flexibility, take off the end crossover tube. This will let you make sure the snakes are completely seated on the heads. You can then evenly tighten up the snakes, followed by the front and rear brackets, then the crossover tube. Last, make sure you remember to tighten up all the hose clamps so you have no vacuum (or boost  ) leaks.

Hope that helps.

I just replaced mine last week and I did it without loosening anything. Just make sure you put the plenum gaskets on correctly. Those little rubber thingies could be backwards. Make sure your gaskets are seated on the line-up pegs on your lower manifold. If that doesn't work, make sure your uppper plenum isn't sitting on a hose or vacuum hose.

If that doesn't work, do what the last guy said. Good luck!
