OK.....so I decided to remove the intake manifold today, and do the Roto-Rooter clean-up on her, along with replacing the plugs and wires. As I disassembled the manifold, it became apparent that the 6 black hoses that connect the manifolds together were hardened and cracking. I seem to remember somebody mentioning that they were no longer available from Ford (big suprise). I see that Sho Shop sells a kit for $100. Would 1.75 dia silicone hose work? The Ford units have a ridge inside the middle of each, which might promote smoother airflow and less turbulance....with straight hose do you think there would be a problem?

Thanks again,

Mike

None of the aftermarket solutions have the same ridge as the factory hoses, so your solution should work fine.
