Intake gaskets

Ok I have painted my intake and put the new gaskets back on but as you can see in the pictures there seems to be gaps. and I have an extra gasket left. I thought I but the gaskets on right, but it just doesnt look that way..

Looks to me like you forgot a gasket. There should be a gasket on each side of the intake horns (two gaskets between the butterflies and surge tanks). Looks like you forgot the kitchen sink, too.

Intake horns? i have 2 gaskets between the butterflies and surge tank. also should there be a gap?

They are the short metal tubes that extend into the tanks. There should be three on each side, and they should be in between two gaskets on each side. And they are what is making that gap.

LOL on the missing nut!! Ok mine looks just like yours Devin. Just through me through a loop seeing the gaps. I didnt remember seeing them when I took them off. Thanks for clearing up what "horns" were..

I don't think yours looks like devin's picture at all. Notice the spot directly above the nut that the camera is focused on. It goes from left to right...

Yup. I only see one gasket in the top pic. In mine as Revvie said the horn is sandwiched by the two gaskets. In yours it looks like the horn ****** is contacting the butterfly housing.

For all intents and purposes no metal should be touching, except the nuts.

edit: my brother takes awesome pictures...
