Installing ASFBs...do I need the recall?

I'm about to install some ASFBs on my car, and the recall has never been done as my SHO is a southern car and isn't included in the recall. Will I need to cut holes in my floorboard to install the new bushings, or is it accessible from below?

Also, the washers in the recall kit have a lip that keeps them from meeting flush with the aluminum bushings. Can I just skip the washers since the bushings are metal anyway, or should I try to mod the washers to fit the bushings?

Its hard to say weather you need them or not, it all depends on the condition of them. And you need not use them huge washers, You could get some smaller ones at a hardware store if you feel you would need to.
