my car has the amps in the trunk, how do i go about bypassing them? and once i do that, do i have to rewire all the speakers straight to the headunit?
anything else i should know? any secrets to takin panels off? anything of the sort?
TIA
brian

p.s. i havent installed any stereo equipment in over 6 years, so this is gonna be fun.

easiest thing to do is get some harness kits. you should buy something called an "amp bypass" harness kit as that is the simplest to hook up. also get some speaker harnesses too. that way you can put eveything back to stock in case you wanna sell the car or god forbid it gets in an accident.

there is a tiny trick to getting the front door panels off. since the panels have a lip and are not flat like older cars, when you pry them off start at the top first and after all the fasteners are out you have to lift it off on a diagonal to clear a mount.

well i didnt get the amp bypass harness. all i have is the basic harness to hook it up without tearing it all apart and chasing wires.
the harness kit is part number : metra 70-1770
it does not say anything about being a amp bypass. so do i have to rewire everything if i dont use the bypass kit?
thanks again and i dont feel like running all new wires to the speakers. that is to much work. lol
