Insert New SD Card

Last November I bought a B13 GPS card from Amazon for my 2013 Taurus SHO. It had worked fine until yesterday. The message was “Insert New SD Card”. I popped it out and reinserted it. Same message. So I reinstalled the old A8 card I had. It worked great. I revisited the order and saw a suggestion about restarting the car after insertion. No diff. When I pressed the message line I saw "Navigation SD Card Fault" so I went thru that drill rigorously. The other option is to do a Master Reset which would wipe out my saved info. Is there some expiration date that I was unaware of? The B13 card was from a Chinese seller at a steep discount. Because it worked for so many months I thought I was getting a good deal.

I guess you get what you pay for, but I never use the factory navigation anyway. Google Maps, etc. are far better than the factory system.

The best part of the SD card is that the screen is easy to read, hands free. I’ve had many a time when the directions being laid out made my driving much more straightforward.

See if you can read the card in a different device. If you can then I would suggest looking at your navigation settings.

Will do. It'd be nice to resolve this matter and learn something new, altho it's hard to imagine that something changed overnight.

The Chinese seller has offered to send me a new A13 card from his home office. That would seem to be the reasonable next step. I’ll be writing him a very good review.

On second thought, I won’t be trying the Chinese B13 SD card in any of my other devices. Too much risk of a virus. I don’t know my exposure from the car. My cell phone links to it from SYNC. There’s an elevated danger from that country these days. That the seller is sending me a new card is enough to satisfy the need. BTW he included full tracking too. It’s unfortunate that we can’t do our business without this worry.

The A13 GPS SD card took a while to reach me from China. Has all the Ford authorized markings. Thankfully it works great. I’m glad I didn’t do a system reset to get the old card to function. I would have lost all my saved settings. Many strange things about the transit but the seller was responsive to all problems. I’ll say so in my review. Hard to know why his previous B13 card conked out after all those months but now I have the latest update.
