Not sure. I haven't done this mod, but it always interested me. There may be other details involved I'm not aware of. Just find a reputable install shop and I'm sure they can elaborate.

For a long time, there was no option for those with Sync and the Ford MFT, so this iDatalink part is relatively new. Haven't seen anyone utilize it in our platform yet.

Hey Rob, North Metro guy here.

This is exactly what it should've come with from the factory, even the wireless mirroring for Apple and Android, love it!

Too bad it's out of stock, but it's probably also out of my budget, since I'm looking at getting summer take off's next year but a fella can dream.

Let me know if you get something like this how well it works and where you get it installed.

Maybe @GotGrip? has an idea of a good installer? (he's a north metro guy too)

you want to upgrade to Sync 3 from Sync 2, or you want to upgraded the Sync 3 to something else?

If already Sync 3, I'd recommend what XSport suggested. I did this on my Mustang and loved it.

Yeah Synch 3 to something else. Does Ortiz Performance do the upgrades?

we don't unfortunately. I have installed plenty, but we never got into it from a business standpoint.

NAVTOOL will add CarPlay to Synch 1.

I have a 2010PP and 2011 regular SHO with factory NAV screen. I just added a WIRELESS Apple Carplay dongle to the wired NAVTOOL Apple Carplay system and it works. Nicely. Like the newer model cars.....Schweet!
