This was our last Slush event, and I was able to get in-car video of all of my runs this time. Two of them are so-so in quality of what you can see, but you can still sort of make out the course as I drive it.
Very simple, high speed course with 2 cross-overs, but chosing the right line over a not-quite as fast one cost many precious seconds.

I started out the day with this "great run"...

they're uploaded in reverse order, the 12th run (yes, 12 runs  ) being the first Slush #8 video.

GeneSHO came out for a bit to watch. I think he filmed one of my runs... I wonder if he got the cones that went flying?

they're all posted in the videos (except the first 2 i think), but compared to everyone else in SM... they were so-so. fairly competitive for street tires (3 of us in the 30s), but the top three cars were all on r-comps, with a low 27 winning, followed by a mid 28 and then a low 29. My fastest run was my 11th run, with a 30.85. It was as close to a perfect run as I could have asked for. Watching the video, I'm not sure exactly where I could have shaved any more time off. Maybe hit the throttle a split second sooner in some turns, but that might have made me slide, so who knows. LOTS of fun though.

http://www.ubcscc.com/events/2007/SS8/SS8_R.TXT those are the by-class results. top 3 times in SM were on r-comps, the rest of us were on street tires. I'd really like to see how the SHO would do on r-comps against the others.

btw, the BMW is a dsp nationally prepped car (current owner bought it from a dsp national winner), but Heather's miata when the way of the Dodo, so she's driving it in SM. 275 r-comps on the front, 295 on the rear.

more rubber, more HP.....
Figure 1-2 sec for R comps, so my guess is you might have been in the 28's.

dude you should just buy my prepped '89, it comes with a set of R comps in addition to a set of street tires.

With the coilovers and light weight (and a good driver) it probably would have accomplished 27's. :3gears:

If I didn't have the money dedicated to something else (and more important/long term than a car), I'd be all over that and would have driven down this weekend cash in-hand. haha As it is, I think i'd be able to spend just about as much (and probably more) to get it it where yours is at. Besides, I'm not sure where I'll be living in 7-8 months, but there is a chance of salt.... having 2 SHOs that i'd want to keep salt free wouldn't work. haha

I'd be over Fred's ride also. But my driveway is already a SHO factory.

Thanks. :salute:
I did a very quick wash & wax the night before. The good thing about taking photos of the car 10+ feet away, is that you don't notice the small things like the ugly scratch on the pass rear door/rear quarter, the paint chips in the centre grill.... etc :p Its pretty clean and I've tried to take care of it as well as possible, but its far from being a show car.
