Well. My battery died sitting in the driveway last night.. Like. DEAD. Nothing. SO. this morning when my step dads gets up to leave i go jump it. And its idling now. but, heres my problem. When i went to start it last night the battery seemed fine. I opened the door. Lights were bright. Door ding was LOUD. Throw the key in and turn it to run and the head lights kick on, fuel pump kicks in. Then i turn the key. ALL the lights go out.. WTF?!!? i tur the key off, then back on again and there is the normal lights in the dash that come back on when the key is at run, except they are DIM.. Very dim.. I go and wiggel the positive end of the battery cable and its hot. So i think short.. But where. It has never gave me a problem before.. Well. I wake up to jump her today and i notice that the idler pulley closest to the battery its just loaded with battery acid.. like where the belt runs.. ??!!?? I let it idle on it on and the battery light is out, but i rev it and it faintly comes on. And my e-brake light which has never worked before is magically working.

Your battery has been compromised. I'll bet it shifted into the alt pulley which ate a hole in the side.

Pull that battery before your car burns down and make darn sure the new one is well secured.

You probably have a poor connection somewhere. Batteries can be easily charged up but hard to get the juice out of them when you need it from poor connections.

If your battery is leaking, you will need to wash the engine bay down with a very strong base as battery acid is very acidic. Otherwise, every time the battery "dust" gets wet, the acidity will come back and continue to eat through whatever it is on.

If you need anything Clay, let me know!
