nah broski audi s-series is 88x the comfort and way better handling and comfort. And did you really mention the m5? Hmmm.
In my opinion, the SHO is a lower budget version of these cars but not comparable.

The SHO is for family cruises on a budget and the occasional brawl at the light. If you are going past that
....gopro it, I want to see the carnage lol.

I've been goproing footage every weekend, trying to get a little video together, just a lot of straight line runs. Only down side is the first 10ish runs were not good footage because of camera placement, once they left the frame, they never came back into it lol

And you did say m5? Right? Mazda or BMW? Because.....

Lol...i want to see the kit car fieros you are test driving..... or pass that wacky tobacky.
I've never driven an M5. I came REAL close to buying one with the V10 and 6 speed manual...they're cheaper than to you'de think...but after spending some time researching them...the finicky motor scared me off. Then I was test driving 350Zs....then a buddy texted me a SHO for sale, and I test drove it, and said WTF, why are these so cheap?

I'm still waiting for her to drop the other shoe...

So after looking at the dealership, it was a 2007 Audi S6. So, my bad. And...for some reason, the dealer told me it was a 4.2 liter NA v8. After googling, it came with the V10? But the badging says V8.

Either way...no way that car made 430hp, the SHO would vomit in its face..,

Thank you for all your input, I think I’m going to to search more for the colors I’m looking for and adding coolers for the PTU and Trans if it’s not to difficult. I’m looking for either the gun metal or silver ones with the flower rims. Do you have any recommendations on what to look for while test driving and inspecting them, the service history, etc...

Also what coolers and big front mount IC that work well together for installation and performance?

Interesting, I only turn it off while at the track.
So...I never turn mine "off".

When I first got it I did, car had tons of roll, and I punched it getting onto the interstate via a roundabout. Ended up sliding the car over the last finger of median between me and the interstate, and slid onto the road. Thank God there was no traffic.

I only want the PP package and I've read that the only way to tell is if it doesn't have a spare just an air pump and the steering wheel will have a different material like suede on part of it. There isn't anything in the VIN that tells you it's a PP?

Driver's side door sticker, Axle Code: 2A.

Good luck on your search, I just picked up a 2017 and had to travel to get it!

Depends on what you're doing.

For instance, if I wanted to hit a nice "S" curved...a high-speed left followed by a right...with stiffer springs and a good set of tires...the outside rear wheel will lift, losing traction. In a non PP car, that means zero throttle till that wheel touches down again.
Yes you're quite correct the car would lift rear inside rear Tire under those specific conditions. We used to call this the Volkswagen salute. I've also watched at the track as Fox body Mustangs lifted the inside front wheel while cornering.
This is of course why you tune your suspension to consider what style of drivetrain you have. it almost sounds like these cars need some anti squat fine tuning.
Anyhow I'm new here. This is a very interesting read as the options and what can be accomplished.

Idk man I researched a bunch of s6 years and every single one beats the SHO..... maybe you were looking at the A6?

Also what year sho are you comparing against a 2007 audi?

I owned a few audis and they are incredible but very expensive.

This is the car, still sitting on the lot. I test drove it...maybe 7 months ago?

Wasn't impressed. Had pickup, but it wasn't a beast. Didn't handle all that great. Mind you, neither does the SHO, lol. But I'm absolutely confident a 2010 SHO would gap that car.

Somethings fishy, lol. They list it as a v10. When I went there, they told me it was a v8, and when I drove it, it sounded like a v8, not that higher pitched v10 scream.

Rebadged, fake S6?

It would be interesting and most likely would be 100% based on maintenance and how both were driven. If use and maintenance were similar the audi should win. Luxury wise the audi wins by far on comfort and features. I personally would never buy an audi that old unless I could drop 5k in maintenance without blinking.

I don't know. I think of Audis as just Volkswagen with AWD and leather.

Wow, good point actually VW is probably the SHO equivalent in Germany. Thanks for bringing that to light.

I think of SHOs as just FWDs with occasional awd and decent 0-60 but lacking in all other performance categories. I'd put them in a sub luxury category. Like a lariat truck but not a king ranch, platinum or limited.

When I look at ads for SHOs' I look for three things, 1 PP 2 Sports Suspension and three an actutara stressing wheel trim. If the SW doesn't have the actutara SW cover it is not a PP equipped vehicle. Period.

PP quicker in 0 to 60 and 1/8th mile, shifts one more time stock in 1/4 which ruins its time vs the non pp....
