This is my first SHO. It's a 93,black(needs paint job)and i love it. It's giving me a heck of a time though. I just cleaned the nostrils today and replaced the EGR & TPS(found a crack), but now it won't idle for more than 30-40 secs. I think it maybe the IAB but not sure. The vehicle has 117K on it, and found out the previous owner didn't take care of it. Trying hard to bring it up to par, but need a little help

Make sure you reset the idle.
With the car warm, disconnect the battery and turn on the head lamp switch for 10 minutes.
Reconnect the battery, start the car......after 20 seconds, switch on everything, headlamps, climate control to auto(60), if auto move selecter to drive with e-brake on. Depress brake pedal amove steering side to side once. Wait about 5 minutes...then take it for a ride without shutting it off and make sure you get up in the revs a few times. 3-4 wot's should be good. YOu should be set after that. If that doesn't work, you'll have to run a test to get codes for errors. You can find this procedure on www.shotimes.com

Thanks for the hint! I'll try it, and let post how it goes. Just bought a code reader from checker auto(a cheap $20 one). Gonna try it out once I get idle set. :)

stop everything and spend some time reading the articles at www.shotimes.com , That is where I learned everything (and how to fix it) for my SHO. A lot of the instructions even have pics. :D

Anytime you clean, replace, or modify anything that has to do with the powertrain management system you MUST reset the idle and allow the PCM to relearn the new settings. Try what I posted above. Don't dig if you don't have to, if you know what I mean.
