if the wheel don't fit, change the bolt pattern

I was thinking about the new taurus rims. They don't look to bad, and there probably is a bigger market for that bolt pattern right? Speaking out of my butt, wouldn't the whole bearing/bolt assembly from a gen 4 taurus just slide in and bolt right on our gen 1-3 cars? Would you run into differnt calipers, rotors and everything?

as oof 2003, tauri are still 5 on 4.25

you can use wheels for 89-97 thunderbird and cougar, 93-98 mark8, all 97+ volvos (some previous ones too).

Just make sure on backspacing, as the taurus has quite thin wheel wells.

Like GreenBird said, all Taurus' from 87-03 have used the same bolt pattern, offset, etc. Pretty much the only changes have been wheel size (14-16") and wheel width.
So, unfortunately, it doesn't increase the number of aftermarket wheels available to a Taurus owner, but if someone wants to put a newer Taurus wheel on an older Taurus, they'll bolt right up.

The good thing is that we have the same volvo pattern and they offer some nice styles for Volvos.....

Maybe this isn't true and I'm gonna sound real stupid, but are there wheel adapters that change the bolt pattern or offset of the wheels. I have a friend with a slammed 98 s-10 and he has 18 inch Boyd Coddingtons that he wants to get rid of (in place of 20s) sometime later this summer and I would love to have these but obviously the pattern is different. Is this true or do I have no idea what I'm talking about?

Yes, there are such things as wheel adapters. I know because I had some on my SHO for ~4 months. Mine were made by a company called "Player Wheel". They changed a 5X4.25 to either 5X100 or 5X4.5. I used them to mount my 17X7 Enkei g-Zeros but the biggest problem is that they are almost 2" thick, so they move the wheel and tire out WAY to far and I was experiencing MAJOR rear wheel rubbing on even the smallest of bumps.

I still have them, and can sell them if anyone wants or needs them. They are just taking up space in the garage now.

Hope this helps!

Later!
