I don't want to seem like a complete *** here, but what's the normal idle for these turbo beast? I'm use to my Mustang GT idling at 6k or so. But this one is idling at 1k or less. Just wondering if that's normal or not? And it doesn't have any mods at all, that I'm aware of. She's a 2013 PP with 150k on the clock. Thanks in advance .

From a cold start, it is normal for the engine to idle at 1500 rpm or so, then drop in stages down to "resting" idle of around 600 rpm. Shouldn't take more than 30 seconds or so, by which time the engine programming enters closed loop (emissions-controlled).

Mustang GT 6000 RPM Idle? Please say that was a typo of an extra zero? Like SHOdded says 1500 during initial start and decreasing to around 600 ish within approximately 30 seconds. Warm or Cold the idle RPM should be well below 1000.

Yeah, she starts at 1k or so and drops to 4 or 500 rpm. I'm really not used to that. I just wasn't sure what it should be. Plus those damn electronic techs jump more then the one in the GT. I'm gonna keep an eye on it and make sure. Thanks guys.

The emissions system makes the idle higher initially to warm the engine up faster. After a minute or so, mine drops back to 500-600 RPM.
