Where is the IAT sensor and what does it look like? Pictures would be nice, if anyone has any. Thanks in advance!

Back in Michigan ... again.
The IAT sensor is the one that sticks into the side of the airbox. If you take off your air filter and look down into the airbox you'll see the sensor; in fact it's the only sensor in the airbox.

It measures the air temp and is used as an input for the PCM to determine engine timing and fuel mixture ratio.

As indicated by the previous post, the IAT is an important engine control sensor, especially in EEC-IV systems. However it seems to get lost in the shuffle sometimes, maybe because it doesn't fail very often.

In light of the considerable role that it plays, I like to clean off the IAT sensor every time I change the air filter. I use a few shots of contact cleaner and then a quick blast of compressed air.

Keep in mind that when doing the EEC-Self Test and pulling codes, the engine has to be warmed up or otherwise you will get an "IAT Sensor Out of Range" code.
