Does anybody know if there is a such thing as a cheap and easy performance mod for these freakin' cars? Mines a daily driver and all I want is to be able to smash on all these damn rice burners in town maybe the occasional 5.0. At the same time I need a reliable ride? Is there anything I can do for low end like first and second gear? Everybody I come up against gives up shortly after take off because they think they've already won after pulling ahead off the line. I just want a good starting point. I have a whole other engine I want to totally rebuild as far as pistons, crank, headwork, BBB's, and all that other good stuff but for now I just want to beef up the 184k motor I have now. It still has plenty of power and runs great I'm just looking for a little more of the thing they call HP. Anyway ideas? The car is bone stock and I have a pretty good source of parts and know-how I just need a place to start. Let me know what you think. Us a Clitaurus-Sho drivers should be letting eachother in on tips and tricks and show all these damn rice burners what its all about. Start a reputation for this ugly ass grandma car we all think so highly of. LOL anyway thanks for time.

...haha this part just made me laugh.

Well, from the two months that you have been here I assume you would have picked up the fact that these cars benefit the most from just maintaining them. Usually a car with 180k (like yours) has a lot of issues that are outstanding. I would start there.

You have a ATX, So off the line your going to be Dog Slow anyways.

Cheap? Cheapest thing I can think of is Nitrous. Best bang for the buck out there. However, Since you do have a ATX....the Transmission is more then likely going to blow up after a few bottles. So how about rebuilding the transmission to handle the power? Well....Now it's no longer cheap.

All of a Sudden that 5.0 you want to smoke is looking like a better deal....Cheap and easy power.

Stop racing from the hole shot, race from a roll and let them at least be a little impressed by 2nd and 3rd gear, or like Sam said, get something faster.

We have parts to help you you go fast: SHO Source

I would start with maintenance first though. Brakes and suspension is a great place to start as well.

theres no cheap performance upgrade on a SHO.

If you want cheap haul-ass cars , buy a hunduh , their owners told me a K&N filter adds 100 hp , and the vtac makes 1000+hp.

Buy a cheap 89, gut it to weigh less than 3000lbs, tint the windows DARK. Add nitrous and drag radials. You now have a mid 13 sec sedan for under $1500. There is no way to make an ATX reliable and fast without spending some coin.

What Tim said. Use the ATX as a daily driver; don't mess with it, you'll be sorry. Get an 89 and guy it.
