With normal long distance driving -change fluid how often if ever ?

There are varying answers, even in the manual. Severe vs normal driving ?? Wondering if anyone had any experience. The transaxel is sealed, but can be opened to change fluid.in santa fes 2.0 & 3.3 s. The transfer case is the same as is the rear.
