I looked really quick for a thread, but how do you get flash out codes on a G3? Does anyoen have a chart or list of the numbers and what they mean?

You need a code reader. There's no other way.

Autozone will pull codes for free. Or you can buy one relatively cheaply. Harbor Freight has a cheap one. Another good one is an Equus or an Actron.

Once you get the read, just google the P---- number, and you'll get the explanation for what it means, though you likely won't get any clue on how to fix it without some deeper searching.

I wouldn't do that. I wouldn't use the booklet that comes with that $30 reader either. I have that reader and it works great, but the interpretations for the codes are hazy, just like many of the results you'll find by Googling. While OBD-II was SUPPOSED to have only one interpretation for each code, it never quite unfolded that way. Different OEMs co-opted the same codes for slightly different things.

My suggestion:
Get the cheap code reader either at the link provided, or at Harbor Freight Tools (more expensive purchase price but you save money in the long run b/c of shipping). Once you pull the codes, check them against THIS list.

get the code, head to a Murray's or Autozone, grab a Chilton's for a gen 3, copy down the error codes, place Chiltons back on rack. :)
