I need to add some fluid into my ATX, what is the easiest way? I think I read once to put a tube over the dipstick and pour it that way. Also I read on another post that it's good to fill it to about 5/8" over the "fill" line on the dipstick. Is this ok and preferred to do? Thanks

Well you have to fill it up through the dipstick tube. The easiest way I have done it is to put a funnel in the tube, then get a water bottle and cut off the bottom then hold that above the funnel. So you have sort of a double funnel effect so you don't spill. I have always kept mine at the full mark, never heard about overfilling. I just know it is a good way to blow trannys seals by overfilling it. Make sure the tranny is hot and it is idling in park to get an accurate reading.

I overfill my trans 1/8"-1/4" and haven't had any problems. I've read the most it can safely be overfilled is 1/4". 5/8" seems like a lot to me. Do you remember what post recommended 5/8"?

Overfilling has been around a long time, most will add 3/4 of a qt extra to it. It helps in cornering so no air gets into the system.

Also if you have a Transgo it is required..
