How to gain back lost HP

hey guys I have a 93 mtx and iv got almost 100k miles now I just bough BBB and im gutting my cats probably this weekend is there anything else I can do to jsut get back some old HP such as me gutting my clogged cats? I think iv read abotu and EGR valve is it? what is that and how can I clean it?

Make sure your maintenance is up to ***** first before modding...

Unless your in Cali you don't have a EGR valve. Only autos do.

I have mods that have been on my car for a while and I dont really need to mod anymore well... anyway i just want to try to maybe clean out the intake and stuff liek that to jsut get back hp i have lost over the years what gets dirty or w/e that can be cleaned up to get back some power?

Clean the intake manifold.. Lots of carb cleaner, around 10 cans or so.

Berryman's B12 is the best stuff to use. You can buy it at wall mart. With the berryman's, you hardly have to do any scrubbing. If your pulling the intake to clean it, clean the intake portsin the heads as well. You will see the carbon buildup on the intake valves. Just make sure the cylinder you are cleaning has the intake valves closed. This keeps the crap from entering the cylinder. Been ther, done that, bought the T shirt. Good luck.

what do you mean gets in the cylinders do you mean the cleaner or the buildup?

Probably a mixture of both, you don't want dirt running through your motor, The b12 will probably evaporate pretty quick though.

yeah im thinking shove a rag in the intake tube, and then spray it and wipe it with another rag. Then run the engine for a little bit, and change the oil?

Take the car out and flog the S*** out of it. It probably just needs a good cleaning out.

I've been putting around in my Gen 1 as a daily for three weeks. I came upon and raced a MX-3. I think I killed every bug in Dallas with as much smoke that came out the tailpipe.

I had TexanTony follow me a day later and I WOT. No smoke.

Just needed a some ol' WOT clean out! VRRRRROOOOMMMM!!!

LOL umm last time i came home from school it got WOT for about 5 minutes straight and liek 27 other times on the way home i was follign some girl and she was moving so i think im good. Do have to say that her car was sliding out in turns and i was letting off the gas becasue she couldnt take the turn LOVE MY SHO!

car has almost 100k on it now but it was well taken car of by it previous owners which some of you may know buy the picture I have of it in my signiture. The 60k was performed and it seemes to run great but it had a best of 14.87 at 98 and i cant seem to get it to run past a 15.5 my 0-60 foot was only a 2.3xx but its not goign to get much better not goign to shave that much off i think it could get soem there and maybe assuming that back when it ran that shifter smooth which its far from now and mayeb some newer tires.
