i hear about how it improves performance and fuel efficiency if it was dirty but i can't find anything in the searches.

is there a how to? sounds super easy but i don't know how to do it or what to look for or where the maf is. i just read in threads, "clean the maf".

also, has anybody noticed that some of the links in shotimes.com don't work?

CRC now sells a specific "MAF Sensor Cleaner" product and I've seen it both at AutoZone and Advance.

take the 2 torx bolts out and then gently spray with cleaner, i used throttle body cleaner. clean the screen as well, its usually dirty. YOu need to clean the MAF everytime you oil your K&N filter. If you dont have one you prolly dont need to clean it bout every 40K or so.

The only thing that would be on it is dust... This can affect the readings theMAF sends to the computer.. Just spray it with electrical cleaner.. Be careful not to damage the fine wire on the underside of the sensor or you will be screwed.. It's located on the air intake assembly just above the air filter box. It's square shaped and has a connector on the left side... You cant miss it.

Had a quick question about the location of the MAF sensor. After reading this thread I want to make sure I am looking for it in the right place. Is it the sensor that enters the stock intake assembly below (or before) the air filter? I thought this was it but then after reading one of the later posts about loosening the torx bolts I thought I might be looking at the wrong part.

Basically, its the metal thing attached to the air box lid, if you take off the airbodx lid, and then loosen it off of the rubber intake tube, flip it over and you will see 3 screws, take those off and that will detach the MAF from the airbox lid, to take off the screen you will see, you need to take off the "C" clip type thing, then, look into the hole and you will see the electronics you need to clean, just use the pressure from the spray, theres no need to scrub it or rub it, the pressure will do just fine...

Thanks for the info. After reading this post and doing some more searching I think the sensor I was looking at is the Air Temperature sensor.
