I was wondering what the technique is on, how to checking the crank shaft for end play. Anyone know who this is done? I'm in the process of assembling my 3.2 and would like to check for play.
Thanks!

Put a dial caliper on the end of the crank snout. Pry the crank in one direction. Zero out the dial caliper.
Pry (lightly) back and fourth between the crankshaft and third main cap.
Read the swing from min to max on the dial. This is your crankshaft end play.

You can also do it with feeler gauges. Push the crank in one direction and measure a convenient gap. Push it the other way and again measure the gap in the same place. The difference between the two is you end play or runout.
