How much would all this cost?

UGH!....ya well theres quite a few things wrong with my SHO, so much that I don't think its gonna even b worth fixin her up...lemme know ur opinion...1st the EGR Ports need 2 b cleaned, needs new MAF sensor, CID sensor, PCM, DPFE sensor. PLUS there is a tranny leak...so i guess it needs a pandrop new gasket n oil...Can anyone give me a rough estimate of what this would cost?.........wait till I get my hands on the guy who sold this thing 2 me! madflame

To be honest you should've had the car inspected before you bought it.

Before you jump to conclusions did you check youor codes? Did you check the connections to those sensors to make sure they were good?

You might as well clean your MAF since its probably dirty

Clean the EGR ports yourself. Thats easy to do.

The tranny leak probably should be addressed. I say that will cost $250 bolted back up with a new gasket and fluid

Either way give us what codes you have before replacing things... doing it blindly would be a waste of money.

Check out some of the DIY writeups on the shotimes.com website. Cleaning the EGR and MAF are easy enough for anyone. How do you know it needs all those sensors? That's quite an assortment to fail all at once. Maybe you should clear the codes and see what re-appears vs what was stored.

If you need some work done maybe Don D. from Port Charlotte can fix it. I don't know what his rates are but it could be worth your while. He runs around here as 1badsho.

I've tried running the codes myself a number of times but when I turn the ignition on the CE light just comes on and stays on...idk, so I had 2 bring her in...nobody around here really knows about SHO's so I just brought her 2 the dealership...they gave me this outrageous quote of $1,589.98 just 2 get my CE light off eek! , and $1505.93 2 take care of the tranny ...I know this is 2 much so I didnt have it done there,just wanted 2 know about how much it would b 2 take her somewhere else now that I know whats wrong...thanx

What am i missing here? 1) take off tranny pan bolts 2) remove pan, let fluid drain into a bucket, 3) buy a new gasket and install it on the pan 3b.) if you are cheep cut out a gasket using scissors and a sheet of cork 4) replace pan and torque bolts. How does this add up to $250? I don't own a ATX SHO but thats how i did it with all my other cars.

I take it you used a jumper wire of some sort at the EEC-IV tester and then turned the ignition to on? There's a how to with pictures at midwestsho.com

And I would try to contact Don and see what his rates are for stuff like that. Ask him if he can bleed your ABS system if you contact him.

If the CEL stays on solid when trying to run codes, one of two things has occurred:

1) You put the jumper in the wrong terminal of the connector,

or

2) The PCM has an internal fault.

fletch, may have a couple leads now on mechanics here in Orlando. Your SHO, was that the one i saw on ****? was here in Orlando? I am dropping another engine and tranny in mine, so will keep you posted on who I choose to do it.

ya my PCM must b faulty bc they said i need a new one of those as well $85 they said...o ya...could my EGR ports being clogged be a reason 4 my temp guage 2 rise?

I understand. There's something to be said for someone who knows their way around these cars. If I was in a bad enough jamb I'd consider a road trip to get a knowledgeable person under the hood.
Like was stated already-- IF you have the jumper properly connected and you can't get the trouble code procedure to run correctly, chances are the PCM has a problem. Replacing a faulty pcm could help straighten out a few things.
