I want to swap the trunk lids on two of my cars but have no idea what would be the best way to go about it. can someone step me through it. i'm sure i could do it no problem but i tend to turn the simplest thing into a pain in the ass.

Release the pre-sprung tension rods. Prop trunk open behind the keyhole. Pack towels under the corners. Unscrew the 8mm bolts...both bottoms...then, both tops. Don't allow the hinges to fall on their own. Set them down so they don't scratch anything. Lift trunk lid away.

If you were going to use the same lid on the same car, I would have told you to scribe an outline of the hinge on the trunklid, but since it's 2 lids, 2 cars, you can't just use scribe marks to line the trunklid up.

Before removing it, tape up the painted edges with heavy blue painters tape. This way, you won't scratch anything while you try to get the decklid to line up properly.
